Simple Google AdSense Mistakes That You Need To Stay Away From

Even though times are changing, with Facebook, Google has dominated the online business world for a long time. The reason Google has been able to reach such heights is because of the high quality results they offer and due to their commitment to accuracy and relevancy. Google asks people who partner with them to adhere to the Google TOS for whatever program in question. Google’s Adsense program has been a standout for almost ten years as a reliable and profitable means for site monetization. There are special and unique mistakes that can be made with Adsense, and obviously you don’t want to make them. Given below are three such mistakes that you should stay away from at all costs.

One thing is certain, Google does not fool around with website owners who click on their AdSense ads, and they’ll fire you forever in a heartbeat. Google is legendary for banning AdSense accounts, and the people behind them, even if it’s a mistake. Never tell any of your friends or office associates to click on your ads. If you have enemies, then simply don’t talk to them about your online business activities just in case they do try to commit click fraud. Google has things pretty well clamped down upon with AdSense, so you won’t be able to fake them with any false clicking methods that have surfaced over the years. They have so many high-caliber PhD’s working for them it isn’t funny, and anything you can even think of will be discovered. If you want longevity using Adsense, then you need to follow Google’s TOS for that program, and then set about doing everything else the right way. Over the years quite a few people have made a ton of money with Adsense, but they were willing to make a strong effort to do it. Displaying adjacent images is hard and confusing for most site traffic. Before now, publishers would put an a number of images equal to that of the number of text ads they were displaying in an effort to increase their CTR which can give people the false impression that the text ads were describing the images. This means that now using lines or even tiny spaces between your ads can be a violation of the terms of service. Now you need to make sure that site visitors are not able to mistake an image for an ad. Avoiding little mistakes like these can do a lot to make sure that you stay in good standing with Google and that your account doesn’t get banned.

Last but not the least; a common mistake that AdSense publishers make these days is that they are running search services or other contextual text ads on the same page or site. Google is trying to protect their business, and so they don’t want you doing that. Another TOS no-no is to display anything that looks like it is emulating their Adsense blocks. However if you still want to run ads from Yahoo! or Chitika you can do so only if they do not resemble the AdSense ads in any way. You can do very well with Adsense, but you’ll need to stick with the programs and follow their TOS. You can run certain contextual ads, but you may want to run it past Adsense support to make sure. It doesn’t really take a lot to make Google happy with your Adsense monetization, so play it safe and you’ll stick around for a long time.
